Pricing varies according to the situation.      It's no secret sometimes you get what you pay for and other times you pay so much....for nothing.    I operate a fair and reasonable company.
Here are a few principles that account for what I do charge.

1. Ladders/Roofs.    People are injured and killed every year on their homes.     Prices reflect my insurance costs, abilities, and need to work in dangerous situations.    Animals aren't dangerous.   Heights/pitches/ etc. are dnagerous.    Climbing a ladder and working from one are two different scenarios.
2. This is an odd industry.   90% of my work requires numerous trips to a site, usually daily. This adds time to a day especially in a urban environment.    I expect fuel prices to rise from 2011 regardless of deflationary pressures that my or may not occur.
3.  Some pricing basics.
   Most jobs entail a service call, inspection, and trap set up fee.    
   Jobs usually incur a per animal removal fee.    No animal, no fee.   Some other jobs are flat rate fees or flat rate on a weekly/monthly basis.
   Repair pricing cannot be definitive until I have completed an inspection and determined the extent and difficulty of the repair.  I am not in the remodel business so don't worry.    I do consider two things important in repairs:   Effectiveness and Aesthetics.    In that order but equally important.
